Below is a timeline detailing various wedding milestones and where you can expect to be in your teeth alignment at each juncture. From selecting your venue to saying I do, here is a breakdown of crucial dates to be aware of:

12 months–Book a venue Settling on a venue can be a nerve wracking process. From houses of worship and hotels to historical homes and barns, there’s a seemingly endless amount of options to choose from that can leave you and your loved one feeling overwhelmed. One way to quell that storm of panic is by focusing on your priorities. If you love to dance, don’t choose a venue with space restrictions like a restaurant. If you’re a foodie, make sure your venue shares that passion for food and features an inventive menu. Also consider your guests. While this may be “your day” it’s going to be shared by hundreds of other people. Try to consider convenience of location, weather, and transportation before taking the plunge.	–Consideration phase– Now that you’ve heard that Pearly Whites offers clear aligners as an alternative to braces, you may be looking into differentiators to determine if it’s the best fit for your needs. Unlike these “mail order” companies that manage your case from remote locations, clear aligners with Pearly Whites allows patients to visit doctors in person, where they can address any concerns they may have. 10 months–Shop for your wedding dress Choosing a dream dress can be an equally difficult process. To make the experience more manageable, plan ahead. Compile pictures of gowns you see on social media and bring a selection to your bridal stylist to help them select an appropriate dress. Ask plenty of questions along the way: Do you have to pick up the dress or is it shipped? Do they alter dresses on the premises? What’s the best way to pack your dress? Also, be sure to consider the climate of your wedding location. If you’re on a beach, don’t choose a flowing gown that will collect sand and trap heat. If you’re getting married on a crisp day in New England, consider a dress with sleeves to keep from shivering on the altar.	–Clearance,scan, and treatment approval– Once you arrive at one of our beautiful offices, we will scan your teeth to determine the complexity of your case. 5-8 days later, you will receive an email preview of your post-treatment smile, along with details about your personal alignment timeline. With this new information, you can schedule your first appointment ASAP!
8 months–Choose and order the cake it’s important to keep your venue in mind while cake shopping. If your reception is in a large ballroom, a towering, multilayered cake would be the right aesthetic choice. Conversely, if your reception is in a quaint historical home, consider something more subtle. Also, keep in mind what you value most in your cake. Are you looking for a delicious dessert or more of an edible piece of art? This can make a difference on a number of factors, including frosting. For instance, Fondant can produce hyper-realistic designs but tends to be overly sweet. Buttercream, on the other hand, is delicious but less effective at maintaining artistic shapes.	-Beginning your treatment journey– We will have your first set of aligners ready for you in 3 to 4 weeks. Once they arrive- you come in for your fitting and we will walk you through the process, answering any questions you may have regarding aligner maintenance, dietary restrictions, etc. Following this session, you will officially begin treatment, changing your aligners every 2 weeks.
6 months- Send save the dates When it comes to sending save the dates, timing is everything. If you send out your save the date too late, you don’t provide guests with sufficient time to request off at work and book travel arrangements. If you send them out too early, guests are more likely to misplace their notice and forget to make accommodations. Ideally these notices should be delivered between 6-8 months prior to assure the process runs smoothly. Also, be abundantly clear on the invitation about who’s invited. Any ambiguity can create chaos and lead to some unsavory characters showing up on your wedding day.	–Final tray– You’re approaching the finish line! At this point, remove your last aligner and exchange it for a retainer!
2 months- Mail invitations While save the dates can be more of a casual reminder, the actual wedding invitations need to include all pertinent details. This is the time to cover any transportation information, dress code requirements or request information about dietary restrictions to pass on to the caterers. It’s also crucial to give yourself a buffer and order extra invitations. On top of your guest list invitations, you’ll want to order an additional 25 to account for any lost invitations, scrapbook requests or last minute guests you’re on the fence about.	–Retainer– Wear your retainer for 22 hours a day, similar to the aligner for a minimum of 3 weeks.
The big day! Before those wedding bells start chiming, take some time to soak it all in. This is the first day of the rest of your life, so take the time to cherish it properly. Eat a nice breakfast. Enjoy a hot bath. Create a playlist with some of your favorite songs. Most importantly, resist the urge to take inventory! Confirm everything with the venue, DJ, etc. a few days before to ensure you can decompress in peace. For any last minute issues, hand your phone off to a member of your inner circle to take care of logistics.	–Mission Complete– Congratulations, you made it!
